I have used this program for years but have now hit a snag when opening an album saved on a flash drive. The album opens to show photos and captions, but titles are no longer displayed on the pages of the album although the text for each title does appear in the edit box. A series of dots appears on each page for titles.
I have tried deleting the title and reentering a copy of it but that does not cure the problem.
The only way I can cure the problem is to delete a title and then retype it, but that is of course a laborious process.
I am using Windows 7 now and produced the albums in question on the previous version of Windows. Is that likely to be the source of the problem?
Can you suggest a solution to this problem? If I downloaded the latest version of the program would that fix the problem?

This is a issue related to Fonts. You've probably used another font to type that title and now when you've reopened the file on a new Windows version that lacks the font used, it displays the equivalent for that letters (eg. dots). I recommend you remember the exact font used because the OS is not the problem here. That's why when you reenter the title, it's shown correctly. You're typing the title in another font. Adding the font to the Fonts library could fix this issue after the program has been restarted and the font installed properly.
I used PhotoRecord on an old computer and loved it. I would really like to use it on my new computer. Can I download it? I'm using Windows 7.

The product is not available for downloading. You can use it only from the Support CD that arrives with your printer. I couldn't find any link or connection to this application. Although the software is mentioned to be available for a certain number of devices, you can't download it. The CD is the only way to have it installed on your computer.
You can visit the review page of the product in order to obtain a link to the official download. Click the green Download button, save the file to your computer and install the application following the self-explained steps.
I recently installed the Photorecord 2.0. I created an album and when I went to print it nothing happened. I can print from other programs though. Help!

It's possible that other applications are already configured for printing or the application is in trial mode and it does not allow you to print anything unless you buy it from its developer. Either way, you should check that the default printer is listed in the Print menu. If it's not, use ADD and add it to the list of used printers then you will be able to print it.

The latest version of the program was tested on Windows 7 on 64-bit and no compatibility issue was encountered. You can obtain a download link from its review page from Software Informer. Also, to obtain a similar application that you can use to create photo albums, use the Software Informer's database.
Canon PhotoRecord was designed as a proprietary-like application. This means that it only helps you create albums in their format. If you can export the contents to JPG or any other image format, then yes, you will have the possibility to import them into PowerPoint, but I doubt it since the extension used by this application is .alb.
You can reinstall it using the package from the installation CD provided by Canon. If you don't have the CD, you can visit the review page of the product in order to obtain a link to the official download. Press the green Download button, save the file to your computer and reinstall it following the provided instructions.
